SUBJECT:	DISCUSSION REGARDING PLASTICS.

ANALYSIS

Please add a discussion item on plastics on the May 8^th agenda, to consider:

1. The recent Bal Harbour Village ban on single use plastics and legal options for Miami Beach (see attachment).

2. The June 11, 2019 Town of Surfside ban on most single-use plastics, including plastic bags, utensils, and dinnerware (see attachment).

3. An update on the Coral Gables ban on plastic bags and the status of the litigation and appeals on same.

4. An update on preemption bills pending in the State of Florida to stop local government from regulating plastics.
