| Please place on the May 8, 2019 City Commission Agenda a referral to the May Sustainability and Resiliency Committee (SRC) meeting to discuss World Sea Turtle Day on June 16 and its potential adoption in the City of Miami Beach.
In an effort to raise additional awareness about our sea turtles and the City’s conservation efforts, during World Sea Turtle Day on June 16 (not to be confused with World Turtle Day on May 23) which specifically celebrates and highlights the importance of sea turtles around the world, the City of Miami Beach could officially proclaim the day and carry out activities such as placing sand turtle sculptures in strategic areas throughout the City’s shoreline for tourists and residents to enjoy.
