On February 9th, 2022, I sponsored – and the City Commission approved by consent – a dual referral to the Convention Center Advisory Board and the Parks and Recreational Facilities Board regarding the future vision of Pride Park.

Pride Park is an important new component of the Convention Center. The Convention Center Advisory Board was created to advise the City Commission on matters regarding the Convention Center and I welcome their advisory guidance on matters pertaining to Pride Park. As a courtesy, I included the Parks and Recreational Facilities Board as part of my referral in the spirit of collaboration and inclusivity.

Since Pride Park falls within the scope of the Convention Center Advisory Board, the purpose of this discussion item is to clarify for the record, that the intent of my dual referral is for the Convention Center Advisory Board and its Chair to lead the discussion regarding the future of Pride Park and for the Parks and Recreational Facilities Board to participate in said discussion within the setting of a joint meeting.
