SUBJECT:DISCUSS, AND POTENTIAL ACTION ON RESILIENCY COMMUNICATIONS INCLUDING PUBLIC/PRIVATE SEAWALLS AND CAPITALIZING ON ASPEN INSTITUTE INITIATIVES.

ANALYSIS

Discuss and take potential action regarding resiliency communications.

First, we should review plans to communicate progress on Public/ Private Seawalls with a special focus on the new 10 year Public Plan.

 

Second, we should discuss capitalizing on Aspen Institute Ideas Climate with a new “Post Urban Land Institute”  Resiliency 2.0 Narrative.   Key elements of this enhanced message may include the following:

- Seawalls
- Private Property Adaptation

- Blue/ Green Infrastructure
- Resident engagement
- Positive project results achieved

- Resiliency Fund

- 50 year resiliency vision
- Flooding "Hot Spot" initiative

- Water/ sewer program
- Dune system

- Resilience Map

- Climate Change Mitigation

- etc.
