COMMISSION MEMORANDUM

TO:Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Commission
FROM:Commissioner Steven Meiner
DATE:December  8, 2021

SUBJECT:REFERRAL TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD AND QUALITY OF LIFE COMMITTEE TO DISCUSS METHODS TO IMPROVE LIGHTING AND CAMERA FUNCTIONALITY AT HENRY LIEBMAN SQUARE.

ANALYSIS

As part of the revitalization effort for the 41st Street corridor, the Mayor’s 41st Street Blue Ribbon Committee passed a motion on its November 2, 2021, meeting to allocate funding to improve the lighting and camera function at Henry Liebman Square (see LTC 471-2021).

Residents and nearby stakeholders continue to experience inactivation in the area. Improved lighting and camera functionality will increase public safety and quality of life and activate the space by pedestrian traffic. This discussion aims to discuss a recommendation on how to best achieve the desired results within the area.
