COMMISSION MEMORANDUM |
| | | |
| | | | | | | | TO: | Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Commission | | FROM: | Rafael E. Granado, City Clerk | | DATE: | February 10, 2021 | | |
| SUBJECT: | A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, APPOINTING COMMISSIONER MICHAEL GONGORA, GROUP III, AS VICE-MAYOR, FOR A TERM COMMENCING ON MARCH 1, 2021 AND TERMINATING ON JUNE 30, 2021. |
| | | |
| | | | | | | | ANALYSIS
| The City Commission has established a policy of rotating the position of Vice-Mayor every four (4) months. Since 1994, the rotation has been by Commission Group number in the following sequence, Group I, II, III, IV, V, and VI.
Based on this direction, the next Vice-Mayor Group should be Group IV, Commissioner Meiner. However, due to medical treatment, Commissioner Góngora had switched his Vice-Mayor term with Commissioner Meiner. As such, Commissioner Gongora (Group III) will serve as the next Vice-Mayor from March 1, 2021 through June 30, 2021.
