COMMISSION MEMORANDUM |
| | | |
| | | | | | | | TO: | Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Commission | | FROM: | Commissioner Ricky Arriola | | DATE: | January 13, 2021 | | |
| SUBJECT: | DISCUSS AUDITING PERMITTING AND INSPECTION PROCESS FOR EFFICIENCIES. |
| | | |
| | | | | | | | ANALYSIS
| Residents, business owners, and design/construction professionals have had issues with the City's overall permitting and inspection process for a long time. On December 2, 2020 the Neighborhoods and Quality of Life Committee held a workshop to address some outstanding issues, but many more exist. In order to help with the administration's mission of streamlining our permitting and inspection process, I am asking that the Office of the Inspector General (OIG) assist in this effort by auditing the process from start to finish and recommending areas for improvement. I also ask that the OIG work with our Information Technology Department to examine the permitting software solution provided by Tyler Technologies, evaluate its efficiency, and identify any performance issues. |
